Reclaim Self Purpose provides domestic violence victim advocacy and supportive services for individuals impacted by domestic violence, relationship abuse, family violence, or coercive control.

About the Advocate
Evangelina Bretado, Ed.S., M.A., DVAC
Services are provided by Evangelina Bretado, who completed 40 hours of Domestic Violence Advocate Training through the California Cognitive Behavioral Institute, consistent with California Evidence Code Section 1037.1(a)(1).
Program Focus
Reclaim Self Purpose is a survivor-centered, trauma-informed, advocacy-based program that supports victims and survivors of domestic violence. It helps participants understand domestic violence dynamics, identify personal safety needs, access community resources, build coping skills, and strengthen self-advocacy and empowerment.

12-Week DV Facilitation Curriculum
A 12-week domestic violence victim/survivors and psychoeducation curriculum that helps participants better understand domestic violence, coercive control, trauma, relationship abuse, safety needs, emotional recovery, coping skills, self-advocacy, and available community supports.
What the curriculum covers
- Domestic violence dynamics and warning signs
- Power and control, and coercive control
- Trauma responses and emotional recovery
- Boundaries and safety awareness
- Coping skills and emotional wellness
- Self-advocacy and connecting to community resources
How it supports survivors
Participants are supported in identifying their needs, understanding their options, strengthening coping skills, and connecting with appropriate community resources when needed.

It does not provide emergency shelter, legal representation, law enforcement services, or licensed psychotherapy, and it does not replace 911, restraining order assistance, legal counsel, or a domestic violence crisis hotline.

Who May Be Referred
This program may support individuals who:
- Have experienced domestic violence, relationship abuse, family violence, or coercive control
- Need non-emergency advocacy, education, or support
- Would benefit from victim-centered domestic violence education
- Need support understanding domestic violence dynamics, safety needs, and community resources
- Are involved with DPSS, victim services, court systems, or community agencies
- Would benefit from a structured 12-week online DV victim/survivors curriculum
